Rye NH seacoast
My mother’s pictures! Beautiful house, this
- Not only must one watch for deer, but also bears, moose, and ducks.
- I think its cute how every state seems to have its own anti DUI limerick. SURVIVE THE DRIVE!
- There are a WHOLE LOT OF HONKEYS up in this bitch.
- Maine women have very interesting conversations on the beach, whose topics range…
Bahaha. Yeah, especially on the organic, hormone free stuff. NH’ers have had that kind of good food for YEARS before it became a trend. Farmstand food is the norm. DAMN, I miss having access to good corn. California (where I currently reside) just doesn’t do autumn foods quite the same. It’s a crap shoot, even/especially in LA.
And NH is such a purple state. It’s kind of a relief (coming from a person who’s spent considerable time in both CA and Louisiana) to see a huge variety of political opinions among neighbors. And said people aren’t at each other’s throats for it.
Tag says you’re from Connecticut. Care to give some observations about our southern neighbor? I can’t say I’ve spent enough time there to say much on our more southernly states. Most I could say about Rhode Island is you go “Hey, we’re in Rhode Island!”
Five minutes later, “Woah, we’re out of Rhode Island!”
Gorgeous old mansions there though.
A hiking trail we stopped at just north of Umbagog Lake, in Umbagog Forest

Running through a patch of woods we stopped in at Umbagog Lake. Was beside an abandoned duck blind. Lotta bugs. They bit something awful.

Gorham, NH, where the fictional Community resides. We take a car ride around it to give you guys the breadth and scope of the town while we discuss a few things. We’d made a stop there on foot a few days before.

This is nearly an hour long, folks. It’s basically Clint and me hiking, then creeping around the high school like a pair of jackasses.
School is out, and even if it WEREN’T out I don’t think they’d be happy about me wandering in and snapping photos everywhere. So unless someone from Berlin, NH or who’s visited the school for competitions can enlighten me*, this is about as good as it gets.
Listen to us blather about our vacation, story ideas, and how exhausted and in pain we are :D !! Yes folks, I was bitten, burnt, and bled to get you this quality footage. NOW WORSHIP THE GROUND I WALK ON!!!11
(*I don’t think my sister, who has traveled there for volleyball stoof, is terribly aware of the culture up there considering she INSISTED it was pronounced Ber-lynn like the German city when EVERYONE up there will auto-correct you to Buhr-lin. Good jorb Kara *shakes fist at little sister* )

Here is the first batch of photos from Franconia Falls. It was a very easy hike with a some awesome falls at the top. Some great places to jump and some cool natural slides.
I try to avoid reblogging vacation photos with folks in them, but these are some lovely shots from Franconia Notch (one of the best known notches in NH) and also a good demonstration of bodies interacting with water. So I’ll make an exception.
Guess where I am right now :3

My neighbor, Mr. MacDonald, fires off this little cannon every Fourth of July in the morning. 55 caliber, it could take out a whitetail down the street no problem. He fires rags out of it for safety.

Maddy, my brat of a cat that serves as inspiration for a lot of the obnoxious feline behaviors The Cat exhibits.
She’s bitey, annoying and spiteful. She’ll give you a :3 face to lure you close and then swat at you. But she gets away with a lot of this by virtue of her charming cat routine and cuteness. I love her, but she’s the most pain in the ass kitty I’ve ever owned. She currently lives with my mother in Nashua.
